まちを潤す柿田川 川床から湧き出す水に砂が舞い踊り、透き通った流れに天然記念物のミシマバイカモが優しく揺れます。柿田川の上流にある数十カ所の湧き間からは、日量約１３０万トンの湧水があります。 １万年ほど前、富士山の噴火により流れた溶岩は「三島溶岩流」と呼ばれ、水を通しやすい多孔質の層を形成しました。富士山などに降った雨や雪が地下水となって流下し、溶岩流の隙間から地表に湧き水となって現れているのです。地下水が柿田川に湧き出すまでの期間は、26〜28年とも言われています。 悠久の大地に洗われた清涼な水は、今この時も清水町の歴史を育み、未来へつながる物語をつくっています。Groundwater雨や雪解け水melted snow三島溶岩流地下水Rain and Mishima Lava Flow湧き間（柿田川）Springs (Kakita River)The Source of Our Livability: A Tale of Spring WaterThe Kakita River, Which Brings Our Town to LifeWater gushing from the riverbed of the Kakita River causes the sand to swirl about, and the Mishima Baikamo, an aquatic plant that is also a Natural Treasure, sways in the riverʼs current. Dozens of springs upstream create a combined flow of approxi-mately 1.3 million tons of water per day.About 10,000 years ago, the Mishima Lava Flow, which flowed following an eruption of Mt. Fuji, formed a stratum that allows water to pass through easily. The rain and snow that fall on Mt. Fuji and other areas become groundwater, which then emerges from the gaps in the lava flow as spring water. It is said that it takes 26 to 28 years for groundwater to flow up into the Kakita River.This cool and clear spring water nurtures the history of Shimizu Town, creating a story that leads us to the future.7
